Maybe my favorite astro photo so far!

There is a lot to like here. The Zeiss 135mm Sonnar lens is probably about as sharp a lens as can be had, and when everything comes together, this is the result. Usually something; whether focus, atmosphere, tracking, polar alignment or whatever, is a little off and it shows. Here, I think most everything was about right. Upper right, the Horsehead Nebula and Flame Nebula, center is M78 (which I have imaged before at 500mm), a portion of Barnard's Loop takes up the bottom and center. This is 69 one-minute exposures, ISO 1600 @f2.8, aligned and stacked with Images Plus and processed in Images Plus and Photoshop CS4. I really like this!
