Constellation Orion rising in the east. There is skyglow from the little town of Why, 10 miles away.
Even at 35mm focal length, a one minute exposure at f1.8 lights up the
Great Orion Nebula, a bit to the right and below Orion's belt.

The Andromeda Galaxy and the edge of the Milky Way (our galaxy).
35mm, f1.8, one minute exposure, full frame, uncropped.

Pleiades, 350mm at f5, 30 sec. exposure.  The blue glow is created by light being
scattered through the dust left over from the formation of the stars in this star cluster.

The Milky Way. The sky may look black to our eyes, but there is light out there.
Scattered light from the stars creates the airglow. 35mm, f1.8, one minute exposure, full frame, uncropped.
There is a faint meteor track in upper center area.
