Lewis's Woodpeckers at a nest on Elk Mountain
I used the 500 f4 for these photos. I had to set up a blind by the nest, it took the birds awhile to get used to it, but then they came in regularly. I have lots of photos!

Bringing in a Scarab beetle for the young.

The adults were bringing in lots of currants and raspberries for the young birds, too.

One of the adult Red Crossbills at my campsite. They are very tame.
The bill isn't deformed, that is pine sap that is building up from feeding on green cones.
